About Precision Financial
Financial advice, built for everyday Kiwis.
We started Precision Financial because we believed financial advice should be accessible, jargon-free, and without the sales pressure.
How we work
From first conversation to ongoing support
We start with a free conversation
Phone, video, or in person. We get to know your situation, your goals, and what matters most to you. No preparation needed, no obligation. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so.
We research your options
We compare across a wide range of providers for KiwiSaver, insurance, and investments. We look at what's available, what fits your situation, and what delivers the best value.
We explain everything clearly
We walk you through our recommendations in plain language. Every option explained. Every question answered. We adjust until you're confident the plan is right for you.
We stay with you
We handle the paperwork. Once your plan is in place, we stay in touch with regular reviews and fully support you and your family during the claims process. Your situation changes, your plan adapts, your adviser stays consistent.
Director & Financial Adviser
Andy Kay
Andy spent over a decade in financial services, including time at hedge funds in Canada and global asset management firms. Back then, the kind of analysis he was doing was reserved for wealthy clients. He co-founded Precision Financial so the same thinking could reach everyday Kiwis.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and the NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5).
Outside work, you'll find him reading, on the golf course, at the beach, or spending time with his partner and family.
Director & Financial Adviser
Freddy Tennant
Freddy was frustrated by the industry's love of jargon, sales tactics, and weekly targets. He believed there had to be a better way to help people with their money, so he co-founded Precision Financial to build it.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics. He believes there's no such thing as an ordinary client, and that every person's financial situation deserves real attention, not a templated plan.
Outside work, you'll find him at the gym, watching films and the NBA, or spending weekends with his partner and Douglas the mini dachshund.
Our story
Why we started Precision Financial
"Everyday Kiwis deserve financial advice that's clear, honest, and focused on their best interests, not sales pressure."
That belief came from years of watching the industry fall short of it. Between them, Andy and Freddy had seen too many clients pushed into products they didn't understand, sold plans built around targets rather than situations, and left alone to navigate the hard moments.
Together, they built Precision Financial: a practice designed for people who've been put off by the finance industry's reputation. Clients first. Education always. Sales never.
